Exploring the Mediterranean on a gulet
Embarking on a sailing adventure in the Mediterranean is a dream for many, and what better way to indulge in luxury and charm than aboard a traditional wooden gulet? These elegant vessels, with their classic design and modern amenities, offer an unparalleled experience for families and friends seeking a unique vacation.
Setting sail on a gulet
A gulet, with its distinctive two-masted design, draws inspiration from the rich maritime history of the Eastern Mediterranean. These handcrafted wooden vessels seamlessly blend authenticity with contemporary comfort, making them an ideal choice for an intimate and luxurious getaway.
As you step aboard a gulet, you’ll find yourself immersed in an atmosphere of opulence. The spacious decks are perfect for sunbathing or enjoying a refreshing drink with panoramic views of the azure waters. Gulets often feature multiple cabins adorned with rich woodwork and plush furnishings, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploration. Unlike larger cruise ships, gulets offer the advantage of accessing hidden gems and secluded anchorages. Escape the crowds and revel in the tranquility of untouched bays, where the only sounds are the gentle lapping of waves against the hull and the distant calls of seabirds.
Professional crew for a seamless experience
One of the highlights of a gulet vacation is the presence of a dedicated and professional crew. From skilled captains navigating the seas to attentive stewards catering to your every need, the crew ensures a seamless and indulgent experience. Imagine savoring gourmet meals prepared by an onboard chef, tailored to your preferences and served in the open air under the Mediterranean sky.
Exploring the islands of Sardinia and Corsica
Sailing the waters around the islands of Sardinia and Corsica adds a layer of enchantment to your gulet cruise vacation. From the pristine beaches of Sardinia to the rugged coastline of Corsica, each day brings a new landscape to discover. Snorkeling in secluded coves, exploring charming coastal villages, and dining on fresh, local cuisine are just a few of the experiences that await.

Exploring the Med on a gulet? Yep, I’m definitely up for that one!
Hi Giles, looking forward to see and your family & friends aboard this summer. happy holidays
Long ago, when I was a student, a big gang of us hired a gulet. Great fun, fantastic views but nowhere near as luxurious as this. It could be time to do a gulet again – properly this time.
Hi Steve, thank you for your comments. looking forward to welcome you aboard of one of our Gulets. Keep just email or call us at Yacht Boutique.

We did a gulet about a decade a go and for us the real highlight was being able to moor up at little bays and inlets and having the whole place to ourself. Our skipper always knew how to get away from the crowds.
Hi Alison, yes this the way to vacation away from the crowd and large ships but see the beauty of the secluded bays along the coast line of Italy and France. everyone can do their own thing and find a way to relax and enjoy the floating hotel on the water. Ideal for families. We welcome you aboard in 2024. Happy holidays
Let’s hope that these traditional wooden boats continue to be looked after and endure. They have such beautiful lines that they are almost works of art!
Yes Nick, the boats are under maintenance right now to be ready for coming summer sailing. It is always lots of work to ensure the wood is maintenance. But its worth it for the classic style and keeping the authentic way to cruise. We can not wait to start the season again. happy holidays
I’ve never heard of a gulet, let alone knew that you could have a holiday on one.
I’ve always said that you get an education from reading A Luxury Travel Blog.
Hi Matt, A gulet is not a well known term like a catamaran. A gulet is mostly wooden hand build turkish boat. also called Ketch or Schooner. it has mostly 2 masts. In the past they were fisher boats and in time they became charter boats. The advantage of a Gulet is the wooden finishes on the boat which gives the classic finish furthermore, the gulet has a lot of space compared to most Motor yachts and Catamarans of the same size. Therefore the cabins inside are larger than most catamarans, and one has space for 12 on the deck for sunbathing and relaxing on the aft. Welcome aboard. Happy holidays
A yacht or gulet must be the best way to explore Corsica. A few years ago I learnt the hard way that you don’t want to do a driving holiday there. The roads are so narrow and winding, always going up and down hills, that it takes a lifetime to get anywhere. Sailing round the coastline must be a far better way of seeing the best of the island.
HI Angela
Thanks for your comment. You are totally right. The best way to charter a gulet or yacht to see the islands from the water for an other view and way to explore the islands easy way to transfer between places. In a full relaxed pampered way. The cliffs of Bonifacio town is a must see and can only be done by boat. We love to see you and welcome you aboard in 2024. Happy holidays and a great 2024 together
Last night friends told us that their 2023 week on a Gulet was one of the best holidays that they’d ever had. And from what I saw in their pictures, their Gulet was nowhere near as nicely finished as this one.
Hi Michael thanks for your message. If you like to experience yourself a gulet cruise do not hesitate to contact us and we can send you details of our gulets. Yachtboutique@outlook.com happy holidays welcome aboard in 2024
