As memories of a mortgage recede into the past, it is good to have a little more money to spend on the luxuries of life. Increasingly, we tend to opt for a villa, largely for the benefit of privacy as mentioned above. I just feel that you are somewhat regimented as to when you do things with a hotel. When I am on holiday I like to set my own agenda and it’s a pretty relaxed one too.
These villas are absolutely brilliant for a small group or family get together. What seems perfect to me is the amount of equipment that is available, I like the idea of all thd bicycles, volleyball equipment, snorkel gear, and boogie boards so that everyone can find something that floats their boat.
Personally I much prefer the intimate feel of a villa to a massive all-inclusive I get that these huge resorts can offer virtually every activity going because of their size but they can seem a little soulless at times. I do value my privacy so I’ll take any day of the week.
After decades of golf no one understands better than me that often you are playing the elements as well as the course itself. Rain, wind and lightning fast greens, dried out by the beating sun, are all part of the game. Truth be told it is those variables which make golf such a great game. But what months would you recommend for some top-quality golf in the Dominican Republic?
Because the weather in the DR is so temperate and warm year-round, playing against it is much less of a consideration than it is in Scotland or Ireland. The only real weather consideration may be hurricane season, which starts in the early summer and runs through the fall, depending on the year. Personally I recommend visiting in the early spring or late winter, when rain is less likely and you can appreciate the warmth of the island even more, if you’re coming from a cold northern winter.
I think finding villas like these in AirBnB is like finding a treasure. It’s got everything you need for a comfy stay especially when you’re with friends or family. I especially like that it’s very private and comes complete wth all the amenities of home. Somehow it makes you feel less lost in an unfamiliar place.
