Vacation rental in my experience can be equal or sometimes even better alternative to hotel rooms. When you travel in group the economics to make sense. Something to consider.
Totally agree with Jack, plus with a villa you have the privacy value added.
I think that renting a villa is an excellent idea; it gives you more privacy and flexibility. Also, generally the more people that are sharing, the cheaper the cost per person.
Alternatively, you could rent a property? Or see if you have any friends who own properties?
