Carnival Cruise Lines and Princess Cruises suspend calls at St. Kitts
Carnival Cruise Lines and Princess Cruises – have suspended calls to St. Kitts following an incident at the weekend. On Sunday, cruise passengers had disembarked Celebrity Mercury and were travelling on an organised excursion; their tour bus was stopped by two armed robbers who proceeded to steal money, jewellery, mobile phones and other personal items. Thankfully nobody was injured by the incident but this hasn’t allayed the concerns of two cruise operators. This week the 2,124-berth Carnival Miracle was diverted to Antigua, while on Wednesday the 2,600-passenger Grand Princess cancelled a visit to the port of Basseterre. Intrestingly, though, Celebrity Cruises, the operators of the Celebrity Mercury, have yet to cancel visits to the island.

I was on the Celebrity Century Oct 25 transatlantic sailing and from pax who had the unfortunate experience of having to leave that same ship due to a malfunction the previous cruise prior to my transatlantic, Celebrity seems to care very little about their passengers. So it is no surprise that they did not cancel this port.
In fact if my cruise was any indication of the way Celebrity cares for its passengers; they need a rude wakeup call.
My wife and I are thinking of going on a Carnival Cruise trip for Progresso, Mexico, as well as Cozumel. It is a five Day excursion parting out of Mobile. Anyone have any knowledge about this particular cruise trip? I can’t come across much information in relation to Progresso
