So far the furthest that we’ve flown with our kids is 4 hours and they’ve got into the routines of flying. Reading all of these great ideas makes me think that it’s time to try something more adventurous.
Hi Chris,
Thank you so much for leaving a comment!
And glad to hear this post was your sign to take on more adventure with your family . . . :)
Family holidays create memories that last for many a year. Even when things don’t go quite right.
Although they are now heading into middle age our kids still talk about the family trip to Australia whenever they get together.
Hi Ivor,
I 100% agree with you.
Even the bad days are full of cherished moments.
And the memories last forever!
It probably doesn’t do any good to look back with regrets, especially on parenting as it all flashes by so fast, but I do regret not taking our kids on a snowy Santa experience. If we ever get to be grandparents I think that will be something that we’ll do with the grandkids.
I love this Judy.
Less about regrets, and more about future hopes and dreams! ✨
Even if you’ve got the ultimate small family like we have there are still some good suggestions here, ie we’re a couple without children. We could turn a lot of these places into romantic suggestions for two.
Hi Jez,
Yes! Some of these spots are incredibly versatile.
Plus a candle-lit dinner will make anywhere romantic. . .
It’s still the beach options that work best for us. Moving our tribe of kids through a city would be like herding cats.
Hi James — I’ve never tried to herd cats. LOL!
But I loved this comment. Made me laugh.
I think beaches are always a win with the little ones.
Of course the big question in 2024 will be what’s a family? I read an article about the growth of big extended families going on holiday. Then to prove the point our neighbours went over to an Algarve villa taking their 17 month older toddler and her 89 year old great grandmother. You have to do a lot of research to make that sort of holiday work.
Hi Pete — thanks for this!
Totally agree. Each family dynamic is unique and some might require some special considerations.
The most important thing is that everyone’s comfortable and has activities suitable to them.
After today’s news that Argentina is devaluing its currency it’s going to be good value for families. Will it be in your next 15 recommendations?
Hi Kate
Thank you so much for commenting!
I didn’t know about that and hadn’t considered a third edition.
People seem to be enjoying these though. So might do another! :)
