10 ways you can donate to help the people of Ukraine

Just as the travel industry was starting to find its feet again as we emerge from the pandemic, the awful invasion of Ukraine is, first and foremost, a terrible humanitarian catastrophe. It is a tragedy that is sure to affect many industries, including travel and perhaps, in particular, luxury travel, but this needs to be put in perspective, as the loss of life, pain and suffering being brought upon so many innocent people overshadows any other incidental effects. So with this post I’m taking a moment to share with you 10 ways that you can help the people of Ukraine who are suffering from the heinous attack upon their country. In no particular order, here are some of the ways you can help. Ukrainian Red Cross Society The Ukrainian Red Cross Society is a non-profit humanitarian and charitable association of Ukraine. It operates in disaster management and does everything from aiding refugees to training doctors, and a lot more besides.  Please click here to donate. UNICEF UNICEF needs little introduction. It is actively providing an emergency response to children affected by the conflict. Please click here to donate. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency The UNHCR is working with governments in neighbouring countries to Ukraine, calling for borders to remain open to those seeking safety. Please click here to donate. United Nations World Food Programme The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is providing immediate food assistance to people in Ukraine and to those in surrounding countries who are fleeing the war. Please click here to donate. People in Need People in Aid is providing food food packages, safe access to drinking water, emergency shelter and hygiene items to people in need from the crisis. Please click here to donate. Nova Ukraine Nova Ukraine is a non-profit organisation that provides humanitarian aid for Ukraine, helping ordinary people and families with children affected by war. Money from donations is allocated daily to frontline volunteers helping provide emergency resources to both refugees as well as those citizens who have remained. Please click here to donate. International Rescue Committee The International Rescue Committe has launched an urgent appeal to respond to the rising humanitarian needs in Ukraine. Your donation will go directly towards their emergency response. Please click here to donate. Save the Children Save the Children’s aims are to meet the urgent needs of children and their families affected by the invasion. The organisation provides food and water, as well as safe places for children impacted by the crisis. Please click here to donate. International Medical Corps Working on the front lines and in surrounding regions, the International Medical Corps helps citizens with emergency healthcare needs and with mental health services for those living in affected communities. Medical Teams International Medical Teams International is fundraising in order to send medical supplies to the region, with all proceeds going towards sending medicines and/or medical supplies.   1. This is an important post. This is a tragedy that is not going to get better any time soon. It’s a post that’s going to have to be repeated time and time again over the coming years.

  2. I sense that the free world will respond very generously. It was heartening to see the people of Berlin queueing to give refugees a home.
