No tempations for Kylie Minogue

Like to be greeted with a bottle of bubbly when you arrive at a hotel?   Or maybe a few chocolates?   Not Kylie.   Apparently she has requested that all chocolate, crisps and booze be removed from her £450-a-night Moulin Rouge suite at the Malmaison in Manchester. She’s also said to have booked the rooms either side of the suite so that they remain empty.   I have stayed at this hotel a few times and, on my first visit, booked a standard double room.   When we entered, the room clearly wasn’t ready – the bed wasn’t made, the bins were full, etc. so I reported back to reception.   They apologised profusely and we were swiftly upgraded to a top-floor suite with fabulous views over the city.   If only my room could be not ready more often…
