I’ve done a number of cruises and river cruises and one of the things that I like best is the talks and lectures on board the ship. There’s only so much you can see and hear on a walking tour. It’s all so much more relaxed on board, there’s the time to ask questions. I’d love to learn about Croatia as I know absolutely nothing about the country.

If you haven’t sailed along the Croatian coast you’re missing out. It really is one of the world’s most beautiful coasts.

I felt that Unforgettable Croatia got the balance right between providing meals and giving guests freedom to explore local restaurants.

We all appreciated having dinner on board on our arrival evening and of course the grand Captain’s dinner was a real highlight.

The dinner that we had at the Ston restaurant after the oyster-tasting completed a very memorable evening out.

In reply to Piers. Cruising would have been far more relaxing. You only unpack once. All that time you spent driving could have been used for swimming or chilling out on the sun deck or in the hot tub!

In reply to Lynne Gardner. Actually it’s a hard choice to make between big and small. The big ships have the entertainment, the choice of restaurants and the facilities. For the guests on My Wish sailing they much preferred the option to visit the small islands and moor up for a swim.

I’ve done a lot of cruises and one of my usual criticisms is that you dock, do your tour and then get back on board without getting a feel for a place.

I like the idea of the restaurant guide so that you can have a meal which is hopefully local cuisine and see a bit more of the location too.

This sounds more like the sort of cruise that I could enjoy. Swimming in the sea is much more my style than battling with 1000s of guests for a tiny swimming pool. I need some space when I go on holiday.

I’ve had a drive round Croatia. Looking back, a cruise like this would have been far easier.

We did a Med cruise on a big, big ship calling in on Split and Dubrovnik last Autumn. We loved both those ports of call and were frustrated that we couldn’t see more of Croatia. It was also frustrating to be sailing along the coast and knowing that our boat was simply too big to call in on any of the other harbours.
