Definitely one of the best airlines in the world, together with Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways. The product, the offer, the routes, the guest experience… almost 10 out of 10.

In reply to Nick Dougill. Pleased to read that, it pretty much tallies with my own experiences of flying with Emirates. They’ve always been good even when there have been delays or things have not quite gone to plan. That’s always a mark of a good airline, that they react quickly.

I’m not surprised at Emirates’ success. they’ve never let me down. In fact, they’ve been very impressive at times. Whenever I fly I go into my own little world enjoying the in-flight entertainment and occasionally rejoining the world for food and drink. Emirates always tick the boxes on both of those.

That $52 billion order book is probably more than the annual expenditure of the governments of some of the world’s smaller and poorer countries. What an incredible stat?!?

Back in the 1970s and 1990s very few people who called into Dubai would have foreseen that it would become the thriving Emirate that it is today.

The vision shown by the government and Emirates airlines has been incredible. Reading this post it’s clear that they still have a bold vision of where they want to go next.

Emirates are probably my favourite airline. The only problem is that they are other people’s favourite too. Dubai Airport is getting like Heathrow you can get stuck in a stack over the Arabian Gulf.

When I first went to Dubai on business in 1998 – and flew with Emirates – friends didn’t have a clue as to where I was going and who I was flying with. Everything was so quiet that I even got upgraded to Business Class. Everything in Dubai is a lot busier now.

That’s good news. I enjoy flying with Emirates. If I’ve got a long haul flight I find a break after 7 hours in Dubai is very welcome. Stretch my legs for a couple of hours then settle into the next leg.
