A couple of times now we’ve pondered the idea of a yacht charter and not taken it any further. Indonesia might have that X factor appeal for us.

It may sound a bit snobbish but high service standards are very important to me when I travel.

When you think about it you’re only on vacation for such a small proportion of the year, after having worked ridiculously hard for the rest of the year to pay for your trip, that you haven’t got time to waste.

What an interesting post!

I suppose like many people when I read the word Indonesia I thought of crowded cities. It had never crossed my mind that there were so many islands and that they were perfect for exploring by boat.

I never thought you could get Caribbean and Maldives landscapes in Indonesia.

As someone who grew up in another age with family holidays to Bournemouth and Torquay the thought of family holidays around Indonesia is another world.

There are some stunningly beautiful scenes in these pictures. If only I could have had such adventures in my childhood.

Even if you narrow down the 5,000 km of Indonesia to the Komodo National Park you’ve still got some researching to do and decisions to make as there are 29 islands to choose from. Cruising ain’t easy!

Coming together as a family for a boat trip could do us a lot of good as we seem to lead separate lives especially during term time. Having some shared experiences should give us some memories to share.
