Sadly sustainability isn’t the first thing on most people’s minds when they book a holiday. On the plus side I get the impression that sustainability is creeping up the league table of my friends’ needs. It’s a dream when you can combine your chosen luxury retreat with sustainability.

I did a double take when I read that the Vermejo Reserve is 920 square miles. That is huge. When you’ve got a chunk of land that large it makes a considerable contribution to conservation policy.
